The National Policy on Primary Health Care (NoP) has been a cornerstone of healthcare delivery in Ghana, aiming to improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare services. However, the policy faces challenges in its implementation, particularly in leveraging technology innovations and artificial intelligence to enhance its effectiveness. • The NoP emphasizes the importance of community-based health services, but the current infrastructure and resources may not be sufficient to support the integration of technology and AI in healthcare delivery.

Harnessing Private Sector Expertise for Infrastructure Development

The private sector has a crucial role to play in supporting infrastructure development in Africa, particularly in the areas of equipment supplies and resource allocation. According to Prof. Ofosu, the private sector can provide the necessary resources and expertise to support the development of infrastructure networks.

The Region’s performance in the 2023 assessment was marked by a significant improvement in its overall score, with a 4 per cent increase from the 2022 assessment.
